That was a scary sight. Injuries can come in all shapes and sizes in wrestling as you never know when you are going to see someone get hurt. Unfortunately there is only so much that can be done to prevent them as sometimes things just go wrong. At the same time, there are injuries that turn out to be part of a storyline and there is nothing wrong. Thankfully the latter seems to be the case again this time.

The main event of this week’s NXT saw NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov face Ridge Holland in a non-title match. Late in the match, Holland dropped Dragunov on his head, resulting in the match being stopped and Dragunov being taken out on a stretcher. This match was taped last week as part of a double taping and the situation is said to be part of a storyline and now a legitimate injury. There is no word on when Dragunov will return to the ring.
It was a nasty situation. Check out the incident, the match, and a better night for Dragunov:
Opinion: What matters the most is that Dragunov is ok, as it was quite the scary moment live. Dragunov did a nice job of selling the whole thing as the fans in the arena went almost eerily quiet for the whole thing. I’m not sure where this goes, but Dragunov is scheduled for an NXT Title defense in less than two weeks. There is a good chance that this story impacts what happens and that makes it a lot more interesting.
