They’re done. Titles are one of the most important concepts in wrestling, as they signify the top stars in any promotion. Wrestlers having championship belts around them tell the fans who the top stars around are most of the time and it is an idea that has worked for the better part of ever. It means a lot when a title changes hands, and now we have something that goes even further than that.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: That Was Plan A: Original Plans For Seth Rollins On Monday Night Raw
This week on SmackDown, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler defeated NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre to unify the titles. As a result, there will now be one set of titles between Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT, with the champions jumping from show to show. This ends the NXT version of the titles, which were established in March 2021.

Opinion: This is something that probably should have happened a long time ago. I’m not sure why NXT needed its own women’s tag team champions in the first place, as having champions go around the three brands worked just fine. That is what we are going to be getting now and that is a good thing after having two sets of champions for such a long time now.
