WATCH: New Champions Crowned On Monday Night Raw

They got there. Titles are some of the most important things in all of wrestling as they are proof of someone being moved up the ladder. When a wrestler becomes a champion for the first time, it means that they are getting a bigger push, which is a hard thing to come by in the industry. That was the case again for two stars this week as they picked up some gold for the first time in this place.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter defeated Chelsea Green and Piper Niven to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. This marks their first reign with the titles, though they previously held the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles. The win ends Green and Niven’s reign at 154 days, the second longest in the titles’ history to date.

Opinion: This is the kind of title change that needed to take place as Carter and Chance have been built up for the last few weeks. It is nice to have a regular team win the titles after so many reigns from makeshift teams. At the end of the day, the titles could use some stability and maybe that is what Carter and Chance can bring to the belts. If nothing else, it is something fresh and that is a good thing to see.
