They’re going to have to work to top that one. As we came into Summerslam, one of the biggest questions was the Fiend, who would make his in-ring debut with Bray Wyatt having his first televised match in about a year. The match was against Finn Balor, who also knows a thing or two about turning up the bizarre. However, I don’t think he had any idea this was coming.
This is just weird. Check out the Fiend’s full entrance:
WWE has released a video of the Fiend’s entrance at Summerslam, which continues a number of bizarre and disturbing elements. The entrance includes a new version of Broken Out In Love, this time sung by a group of women, the Fiend mask, and above all else, a lantern designed to look like a man’s head with the light coming out of his mouth. Wyatt went on to win the match in short order.
Opinion: I have no idea where this came from but whoever thought of it (likely Wyatt) needs a lot of help. This is some disturbing stuff and I’m not sure I want to know where the lantern idea came from. If WWE can keep something like this up, they’ve got the next truly disturbing star on their hands. Wyatt gets the idea of being creepy and that’s what he did here to an incredible level.
