Hold tight because the show is not over. There is a lot taking place at any given television taping, with the things that you see on the show not being anywhere near everything that happens. Live fans will often get to see something extra and that can be some of the most entertaining parts of the show. That might have been the situation this week, as a major star had something to say when the cameras went off.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Keep It Going: AEW Adds Two More Title Matches To Full Gear
The closing segment of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Maxwell Jacob Friedman square off with Jon Moxley before their World Title match at Full Gear this coming Saturday. Following the end of the show, Friedman asked AEW President Tony Khan to come to the ring. After promising not to shake Khan down for money, Friedman asked the fans if they loved wrestling.
Friedman asked the fans who they were there to see and the fans chanted Friedman’s name. He went on to praise Khan for offering fans an alternative to a monopoly and said that he did not like someone coming in to try and ruin the company. Friedman said he loved WWE, but the fans’ favorite wrestlers weren’t going to get paid without Khan offering an alternative. Friedman finally said he was putting AEW on his back, but said that Khan would need to pay up when his contract was up for negotiations in 2024. With that, Friedman left and Khan took pictures with fans to end the night.
It was a heck of a speech. Check out what Friedman had to say to Khan:
Opinion: That is how you wrap up a night while also getting a bunch of people talking at the same time. Friedman is the hottest thing in AEW right now and that is the kind of thing that can be turned into quite a few positives. I’m not sure where Friedman is going to wind up but he is giving us a heck of a ride before his contract comes up next year. The promo was great, which is the case with a lot of things that he has to say.
What did you think of Friedman’s promo? Will he win the World Title at Full Gear? Let us know in the comments below.
