Take it outside. Back in 2016, the Hardys introduced a concept called the Final Deletion, which marked a new field in the wrestling world. Matt and Jeff Hardy brawled all over Matt’s compound in North Carolina in a match that was completely over the top and insane, with all kinds of in-jokes and pyrotechnics. The Hardys would do more of these cinematic matches and others would follow suit. Now though, it seems to be time to go back to the original.

Matt made his AEW debut in March and has had issues with the Inner Circle ever since. This has led to a summer long feud with one member of the team after another, but none has been as big as his issues with Sammy Guevara. The two met in a controversial Last Man Standing match at All Out which continued after Matt suffered a concussion. Things were not yet over though and now it’s time to try something different.

In a new promo, Matt has announced that he will face Guevara in an Elite Deletion match at his compound in North Carolina during Full Gear on November 7. While not confirmed, it is likely that the match will be a cinematic match. There is no word on any specific rules for the match. AEW has run a cinematic match before, including at All Out with the Tooth vs. Nail match between Big Swole and Britt Baker.

This is a long time coming. Check out the promo and how we got here:

Opinion: This is one of the only ways to go and that is a good thing at this point. Matt has shown that he can do something special with this kind of a match and I could see this being another good one. Their feud has been built up well but they are still waiting on that big match. Maybe they can do it in Matt’s home setting, though otherwise I’m not sure what they have left.
