She’s in. There are all kinds of incredibly talented wrestlers throughout the world and some of them are not part of WWE or AEW. Those companies are always interested in picking up some fresh talent though and it can be a huge deal when one of them shows up. That was the case this week, as a top star from outside one of the two major companies made her official AEW debut.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: His Role: The Rock Not Likely To Be Around WWE As Often After WrestleMania

This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured the debut of Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha banks during her time in WWE. Mone revealed that she is officially signed to AEW and later appeared backstage in a segment meeting Riho. Following the main event, Mone ran into save Willow Nightingale from an attack at the hands of Skye Blue and Julia Hart. This comes after weeks of Mone’s debut being teased but never announced.

It was a big night. Check out what Mone did, plus what she can do in the ring:

Opinion: This was hardly a major surprise and that is not a bad thing. AEW more or less flat out said that Mone was going to be debuting on this show and there is nothing wrong with taking out the subtlety. Mone coming in is a special event for AEW and it could make for quite the upgrade for the company’s women’s division and AEW as a whole. They’re off to a good start and that is one of the most important parts.
