And so much for that. There are all kinds of teams and groups in the wrestling world and some of them have been together for a very long time. Those teams often have quite the legacy together and it can be a big deal when one of them splits up. That took place again this week as a star turned his back on a longtime friend in a rather violent fashion following a loss.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Never Before: WWE Announces First Time Ever Deal With Ties To WrestleMania

This week on AEW Dynamite, the Young Bucks defeated Trent Beretta and Orange Cassidy in the semifinals of the Tag Team Title tournament. Following the match, Beretta laid out Cassidy, ending their team and walking out on his longtime friend Chuck Taylor. This marks the first time the team has been apart in AEW and the first time Beretta has become a villain in the company.

That’s a big one. Check out the turn, plus the new villain in action:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is going to resonate with a lot of the AEW audience as the Best Friends have been around for a very long time now. It should make for a good run for Beretta, who has had the talent to do something away from the rest of the team. Cassidy vs. Beretta could be quite the showdown, though it’s going to have to be put together well, with a strong explanation from Beretta for what just happened.
