It took long enough. There are times in wrestling where you can see the storyline twist coming from a mile away and that is not a bad thing. It can be nice to know where the story is going and then go in that direction anyway, as not every twist needs to be a surprise. That was the case this week, following a very long path to get us to anything happening.

One of the featured matches at WWE Clash At The Castle saw Edge and Rey Mysterio team up to defeat Judgment Day. Following the match, Mysterio’s son Dominick kicked Edge low and then clotheslined Rey before leaving on his own. This comes after Dominick spoke about how unhappy he was to see Rey choose Edge as his partner instead of him. Dominick and Rey have teased a breakup for over a year now, even before last year’s Summerslam.

This was overdue. Check out the turn finally happening:

Opinion: This is a turn that was fairly obvious for a while now, including this week on Monday Night Raw when Dominick might as well have told Rey that he was turning on him. That isn’t a terrible way to go, but it is certainly not a shocking result. Either way, it is something that has needed to happen and now we can see where things are supposed to go from here.
