Someone has to be next. One of the more interesting stories in wrestling is Kenny Omega as the belt collector. Omega currently holds three different World Titles, including the AAA Mega Title, the Impact Wrestling World Title and of course the AEW World Title. That is quite the collection of gold, but at some point he has to defend the belts. Now we know who is up next for one of them.

This weekend at Impact Wrestling’s Under Siege event, Moose won a six way match to earn the next shot at Omega’s Impact Wrestling World Title. The title match will take place at Against All Odds, an Impact Plus monthly special, on June 12. Moose defeated Chris Bey, Matt Cardona, Sami Callihan, Chris Sabin and Trey Miguel to win the match, pinning Sabin to earn the shot. However, there might be a little something to make the match more interesting.

Earlier this month, Moose revealed on Twitter that his Impact Wrestling contract expires at some point in June. It is not clear when that will be the case, meaning that the title shot may be Moose’s last in the promotion. There is no word on if this is a storyline or legitimate, as Don Callis had mentioned in a promo earlier this year that Moose had two years left on his contract with the company.

Omega might be in some trouble. Check out what is waiting on him:

Opinion: This is the kind of match that makes sense as Moose is a monster who could give Omega some trouble due to pure power. Omega has been presented as miles ahead of most of the Impact Wrestling roster but there is something about Moose that makes you think it could happen. At the very least, it should be a heck of a fight and that is as much as you can ask.

The contract issue makes things all the more interesting, as there is a good chance that it could be the major plot point of the match. I’m not sure I can imagine Moose taking the title, as Omega losing it in his first defense is hard to fathom, but there is enough doubt to make it a better match. Now just deliver on the match itself and everything should work out in the end.
