He’s still got it. There are certain wrestlers throughout WWE’s history who reach the elite status of being the company’s face. Those are the wrestlers who are most synonymous with WWE and are among the biggest names in WWE history. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured an in-ring segment involving the Judgment Day, which was interrupted by R-Truth. Eventually R-Truth asked if his partner the Miz could join the team, leading to Miz coming to the ring. A six man tag was set up, with R-Truth promising a special partner. Late in the match John Cena returned and helped his team win with Cena, R-Truth and Miz hitting stereo Attitude Adjustments. This was Cena’s first match since Crown Jewel in November 2023.
This was cool. Check out Cena’s return and his recent WWE appearances:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is often going to happen on the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania and WWE seemed to understand that. Cena showed up, was physically active for about two minutes and got a nice reaction. That’s all it needed to be as it was little more than a fun cameo, which is one of the places where Cena tends to shine. He can’t do it every week anymore, but at least he did it well here.
