Stop thieves! There are all kinds of wrestlers in the industry and some of them become associated with certain things over the course of their careers. This includes moves, matches or occasionally locations. Some wrestlers are known for being involved in one particular city, and that led to quite the spectacle this weekend during a special ceremony for an all time legend.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: Some Wrestlers Reportedly Unhappy With The Rock’s Recent Promos
This weekend, the Memphis Grizzlies honored WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry Lawler with a lifetime achievement award. However, AEW’s Jeff Jarrett and Satnam Singh showed up to steal the award. During halftime, Singh defeated four wrestlers before returning in the third quarter. Grizzlies’ mascot Super Grizz then appeared and took Singh down before hitting a superkick and high crossbody to pin him.
It was a heck of a night. Check out the whole saga:

Opinion: This falls under the definition of “goofy wrestling fun” and that is a great thing to see. It was nothing ever meant to be serious and the local fans got something of a treat. Lawler is an icon in Memphis and getting to see him in his hometown is very nice. If nothing else, it’s great that he is healthy enough to take part in something like this, as that wasn’t the most likely situation last year.
What do you think of the whole thing? What is the best part of Lawler’s career? Let us know in the comments below.
