We have a match. There are all kinds of wrestling promotions throughout the world and some of them are known worldwide. On occasion you will see top names from different promotions get in the ring against each other, often at a major event. That is going to be the situation again early next year and this time around it is going to be one heck of a grudge match.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Get Back To Us: WWE Reportedly Canceled Vignette For Superstar Return On SmackDown

Over the weekend at New Japan Pro Wrestling Power Struggle, AEW star Bryan Danielson, with his eye still bandaged following surgery for a broken orbital bone, appeared in a video. Danielson issued a challenge to Kazuchika Okada to face him at Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4, 2024. Danielson cited Okada injuring both his arm and his orbital bone and promised to break Okada’s arm in exchange. Okada said “yes” and the match was made official.

This could be big. Check out the challenge and how we got here:

Opinion: I’m not sure how much of a bigger match you could ask for and that is exactly the point. Danielson and Okada have an issue and it felt like we were coming up on this match for a little while now. What matters is Danielson getting healthy as soon as possible, as he already has a serious injury. If everything goes well, we could be in for a dream match on one of the biggest stages in wrestling.
