It’s been a little while. Tag teams have been a big deal for a very long time in wrestling and some of them have become major deals throughout their careers. You can often see a team who feels thrown together become a big deal and hit some unexpected highs in wrestling. That was the case with a certain team over ten years ago and this week they had a long awaited reunion.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: On The Job Injury: Monday Night Raw Match Stopped Due To Injury, Injured Wrestler Comments
This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a special edition of MizTV, with the Judgment Day as the scheduled guests. Instead R-Truth, Miz’s former partner in the Awesome Truth tag team, appeared and spoke to Miz instead. Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh, of the Judgment Day, came out and went on to lose to Miz and R-Truth in a tag match. This was only Miz and R-Truth’s third match as a team since their original run together in 2011. Prior to this match, their most recent match had been in 2019.
The team does have a history. Check out the reunion and some of the old days:
Opinion: While I’m not sure I can imagine this being a long term reunion, there is something to be said about having a team back together like this for a special moment. Miz and R-Truth have some great chemistry together and that was on display this week. Maybe they even go after the Tag Team Titles one more time, but for now, I can go for a fun moment that gave some nice flashbacks.
What did you think of the reunion? Should the team continue? Let us know in the comments below.
