WATCH: Former Champion Returns After Nine Month Hiatus On Monday Night Raw

He’s here again! There is something special about seeing a wrestling star make their return to the ring after a long time away. Seeing them getting their chance to start things over again can be quite the jump start to their careers, especially if it is something that comes as a surprise. That was the case again this week, as a nine month injury hiatus finally came to an end.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Tommaso Ciampa made a surprise return, answering the Miz’s open challenge and defeating him. Prior to his hiatus, Ciampa and Miz had been associates, with Ciampa acting as Miz’s muscle. This was Ciampa’s first match since September 2022 as he has been out of action following hip surgery. Ciampa’s return had been rumored for later this summer but no date had been given.

Opinion: I’m glad to have Ciampa back, as he is someone who always felt like he could be a star if he was given the chance. The problem is that his body seems to be giving out on him and I could understand WWE not wanting to take a chance on him with the possibility that he could be hurt again so quickly. For now though, it was a nice return and that’s exactly what it needed to be.
