WATCH: Former Champion Makes Surprise Return To End Monday Night Raw

Welcome back! There is something special about a wrestler making a surprise return, as it can lead to all kinds of cool moments. You never know when someone is going to show up after a long absence and breathe some life into a story. That can cause some great things to happen going forward and now it seems like we might be seeing that happen all over again.

The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Tommaso Ciampa challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Title in a losing effort. Following the match, Gunther’s Imperium teammates came in and attacked Ciampa, leading to Johnny Gargano making a return for the save. Ciampa and Gargano, formerly known as DIY, fought Imperium off to end the show. Gargano has not wrestled on television since May 15, though he has wrestled on live events.

Opinion: This one is long overdue and it’s nice to see Gargano back. He has been gone for a very long time now and you never want to see someone miss the better part of five months for any reasons. At the very least, the tag team division is getting a nice boost as DIY are one of the better teams on the roster, which could certainly use some help at the moment.
