WATCH: Edge Addresses Crowd After WWE SmackDown, Talks Future In The Ring

That’s all? Retirement can come in a variety of forms in wrestling, as sometimes they are forced upon a wrestler but occasionally someone gets to plan what they want to do as they walk away. The latter is much more preferable and can lead to some rather emotional moments. We might have seen another of those, as a legend may have said farewell after his last match.

The main event of this week’s SmackDown saw Edge defeat Sheamus. The match was part of Edge’s 25th anniversary in WWE celebration and there has been speculation that it could be Edge’s retirement match. The rumors were acknowledged on the broadcast and Edge has said it is the last match on his current contract. Edge addressed the crowd after the show, saying that it was his last match in his hometown of Toronto, but did not say that he was finished entirely. There is no word on when or if Edge will return to the ring or if he has signed a new deal with WWE.

Opinion: This is one of those special moments and whether or not Edge gets back in the ring, this was a heck of a night for him either way. Edge is one of the biggest names in WWE history and there is very little left that he could possibly accomplish. If this is how he goes out, there would not be much of a better way for him to possibly leave and that is rather cool.
