WATCH: Cody Rhodes Tells Funny Story Of Showing Up Xavier Woods In High School

It was a different time. Wrestlers come from all over the world but on occasion there is a history between some of them on the way to the big time. That can make for some fun stories when time has passed and that seems to be the case again, as one of the biggest stars in WWE today has a rather interesting story about another star from a good many years ago.

During an interview with Inside The Ropes, Cody Rhodes told a story about facing Xavier Woods in a high school wrestling competition. Rhodes won and then later ran into Woods at a bowling alley. Rhodes was at the bowling alley with a girl he had just started dating named Lindsey, who had previously dated Woods. Upon seeing Woods, Rhodes picked up a ball and rolled a strike, which he said may have been luck. He then turned to Woods, said he beat him, and left.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes for a great visual and there is something awesome about the idea of these two knowing each other before they got to WWE. If nothing else, it’s an awesome story and I’m sure Woods would have a rather different version of what happens. Either way, it makes me want to hear the two of them have a friendly chat about this and they very well may have before, which would be rather entertaining.
