WWE eventually announced they had incorrectly advertised Reigns and offered refunds to fans who requested such. Rhodes defeated Finn Balor in the show’s main event, after which he addressed the crowd. Rhodes said that Reigns was not there due to fear, which he also suggested was the case with Lesnar. In closing, Rhodes said that the next time he comes back to Fayetteville, he plans to have beaten both of them and have some gold around his waist before thanking the fans for coming out.
It was a busy night. Check out the promo, plus Rhodes dealing with Reigns and Lesnar:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes Rhodes feel like a star, as he had Reigns as far against the ropes as you can get and defeated Lesnar at Backlash. That is more than almost anyone else can claim and it would not be surprising to see Rhodes move on a heck of a lot further in the near future. Rhodes can talk rather well, and it should be interesting to see where he goes from here.
