WATCH: CM Punk Returns To WWE Ring At Madison Square Garden, Addresses Crowd After Match

He’s back. There have been all kinds of major wrestling stories over the course of the year and one of the biggest was the surprise return of CM Punk to WWE at Survivor Series. This has led to a lot of questions about what will be next for Punk, including who he will face in the ring. That question was answered this week, and believe it or not, Punk had something to say about it.

Punk returned to a WWE ring for the first time in nearly ten years this Tuesday, defeating Dominik Mysterio at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Punk defeated Mysterio by reversing a suplex into the GTS for the pin. Following the match, Punk addressed the crowd, saying that he was going to go on to win the Royal Rumble and main event WrestleMania. Punk said that would not be him finishing his story but rather just getting started.

Opinion: This is one of those moments that doesn’t feel real but here it is. Punk is actually back in a WWE ring and having a match with promises of more. Returning in the World’s Most Famous Arena isn’t a bad way to start but there is a lot more in the way for Punk. I’m not sure where this story ends, but it is absolutely amazing to see that it is actually starting up again.
