WATCH: CM Punk Makes Surprise Appearance At NXT: Deadline, Sports Interesting Look

There too. Every so often you see a wrestler who gets fans’ attention no matter what they are doing. There is a certain star power to them that gets their attention and it makes a huge difference on any show where they might make an appearance. WWE know what to do with that kind of star and that has been the case again in recent weeks. It was also the case this weekend.

CM Punk made a surprise appearance at this weekend’s NXT Deadline event, marking his first NXT appearance in over ten years. Punk opened the show by interrupting NXT executive Shawn Michaels while wearing a Bret Hart hoodie. The two talked about the possibility of Punk signing with NXT but did not make an announce. Punk is expected to sign with a brand next week on Monday Night Raw.

Opinion: This is the kind of fun that Punk can have with something like this before he signs with one of the other brands. While he didn’t have much to say, just having Punk around is going to draw some attention and that is what he did here. It made for a special moment and continues the “anyone could show up” feeling that NXT has been having. I can’t imagine Punk will be around again, but just the one appearance was good enough.
