Nice to see you! An injury can be one of the most horrible things in all of wrestling as they can take away someone’s momentum in the blink of an eye. You never know when you are going to see someone get hurt and put on the shelf for a very long time. That is the kind of thing that can change everything, but it can make for a great moment when they come back. Such a return might not even be when they are ready to return to the ring, but rather like a cameo we saw this week.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He Did It: Interesting Note On The Rock’s Role In His Heel Turn
The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Jimmy Uso cost his brother Jey the Intercontinental Title. Following the match, Jimmy attacked Jey to end the show. WWE has released a video from after the show, featuring Cody Rhodes in the ring with Jey addressing the crowd. Rhodes them brought out the injured CM Punk as a surprise, with the two congratulating Punk to end the night. Punk is currently out of action with a torn tricep and is expected to be out of action from six to eight months.
The fans remember him. Check out the cameo, plus some of the show from earlier in the night:
Opinion: That is a nice way to end the show and something that Punk can do to keep fans interested in him while also giving the live crowd a thrill. Punk is one of the biggest names in WWE at the moment but he can’t get in the ring, leaving him with limited options. The fans still reacted to him rather strongly though and that is a good sign for his future, as the longer he can keep those reactions going, the less he has to rebuild when he gets back in the ring.
