WATCH: CM Punk Makes Announcement After Monday Night Raw, Calls Out World Champions

He has an idea. We are in the beginning of a new year and it happens to be the start of a new era in WWE as well. The company’s flagship show, Monday Night Raw, is now on Netflix, and the first episode on the new platform aired this week. The show featured a stacked card but things were not done when the main event ended, and now we know what else happened.

The main event of this week’s NXT saw CM Punk defeat Seth Rollins in a grudge match. WWE has released a video from after the show went off the air, featuring Punk being interviewed on his way back to the locker room. Punk announced that he was entering the Royal Rumble and coming for both World Champions, Gunther and Cody Rhodes. This marks the second entrant to the men’s Royal Rumble match, following John Cena.

Opinion: I don’t think it’s the biggest surprise that Punk is going to be added into the Royal Rumble, as he was the runner up last year and very well may be on his way to a big time World Title feud. Punk getting to challenge for a World Title shot at WrestleMania would not exactly be shocking and it should be interesting to see where Punk goes. For now, Punk has a few weeks to get ready, and we could be in for a nice build.
