It’s a side gig. Wrestlers are in a weird place when it comes to being a celebrity. They are on television every week but that does not mean they are going to be seen as stars outside of the wrestling world. There are places where they fit in rather well though, including some other forms of athletics. This includes UFC, where a top WWE star has gotten to help things out a bit.
Former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is featured in a new video hyping up the Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier fight at UFC 264 for BT Sports. In the video, Lynch speaks about McGregor, who is also from Ireland. Lynch has been out of action for over a year on maternity leave, giving birth to her daughter in December. She has recently been training for a return to the ring.
This is pretty cool. Check out the video and Lynch at her regular job:
Opinion: It’s always cool to see a wrestler getting some respectful treatment like this. Lynch is great in this kind of a role as she has a unique voice and has always been a strong talker. I’m curious to see what she is going to do when she gets back, as a year plus is an eternity in the wrestling world. Lynch is the biggest female star of all time, but she is going to have to work to get back in the swing of things.
