They were impressed. The live crowd is one of the most important parts of any wrestling show. Having the fans going nuts for the entire night make things feel that much more important as the wrestlers are able to feed off of the energy. That was the case again this weekend, to the point where the fans were not done being excited, even when the show went off the air.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: No More: 32 Year Old Former WWE Star Announces Retirement From The Ring
The main event of this weekend’s WWE Backlash event saw Cody Rhodes defeat a bleeding Brock Lesnar by countering a Kimura into a rollup for the pin. Following the match, Rhodes left the ring and Lesnar was left alone to end the show. A video from after the show has been uploaded to YouTube, showing the ans giving Lesnar a standing ovation. Lesnar soaked in the cheers and punched the mat before leaving the ring to end the night.
It was a cool moment. Check out Lesnar’s reception, the match, and the show itself:
Opinion: The match was a rather intense fight and it makes sense to have the fans be impressed with what Lesnar did. The crowd had been red hot all night and letting them get in one more cheer was a nice thing to see. There is a good chance that the fans will not get to see Lesnar in person again so them giving him this kind of a reception is hardly a surprise.
