Hand them over. Titles are some of the most important concepts in all of wrestling as they are so easy to understand. Any kind of fan can get the idea that wrestlers are more important if they are holding shiny belts. Therefore, it can be a big deal when someone wins or loses a title and that was kind of the situation this week, albeit under some rather different circumstances.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s In: Update On New AEW Character, Tony Khan’s Idea

This week on AEW Collision, the reigning Trios Champions the Bang Bang Gang announced that since Jay White was injured, Juice Robinson would take his place as one of the champions. However, Interim Executive Vice President Christopher Daniels announced that since one of the champions was injured, the titles were officially vacated. As a result, the Bang Bang Gang would face the Patriarchy for the vacant titles at an undetermined time.

This is different. Check out the announcement, plus the two teams in action:

Opinion: This is certainly a way to go but at the same time it is a bit of a messy way to get to the conclusion. It would seem like the same result could have been achieved by allowing Robinson to defend the titles in White’s place, though I’ll certainly take this over another interim champion or something similar. Hopefully the delay isn’t that long, but waiting a few weeks is not out of the question.

What do you think of the idea? Who will be the next champions? Let us know in the comments below.
