They had plans. There are all kinds of things that take place in front of the camera at a wrestling show. It might be a match or an interview at some place in (or occasionally out of) the arena, but you see most of what is going on. At the same time, there are occasionally things that happen behind the scenes. That was the case back in August, and now we know what happened.

Last year at AEW All In, a backstage incident took place between CM Punk and Jack Perry. The two got into a backstage scuffle, which resulted in Punk being fired from the company. AEW aired the video this week on Dynamite, while tying it together with a storyline involving the Young Bucks and FTR, who will face off for the Tag Team Titles at Dynasty. Both teams also commented on the situation during Dynamite.
It’s a big deal. Check out most of the clip (AEW has taken down several versions and this is the most complete we have available), plus the reactions and Punk in AEW:
Opinion: This is one of the more confusing things I’ve seen from AEW in a good while. The incident took place eight months ago and yet here we are, looking at it again, presumably due to Punk’s recent interview about AEW. I’m not sure how far this is going to go, but at leas it seems to be done now as there can’t be much else to air about the whole thing. That is probably good, as this does not seem to be the best idea.
What did you think of the clip? Should AEW have aired it? Let us know in the comments below.
