That’s a surprise. There have been all kinds of wrestlers throughout WWE’s history and only a select few of them have reached the top levels possible. Those names are often treated as big deals long after they leave the company, which can lead to long careers on the independent circuit. That appears to be taking place again with a surprising name making a shocking appearance.

WWE Hall Of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield made a surprise appearance at this weekend’s Game Changer Wrestling Homecoming event, attacking Effy with two of his signature Clotheslines From Hell. The attack allowed Mance Warner to win the GCW World Title. There is no word on if Layfield, 57 years old, will be wrestling for the promotion. Save for an appearance in the 2014 Royal Rumble match which lasted 49 seconds, Layfield has not wrestled since 2009.

This was different. Check out the clip, plus Layfield during his career:
Opinion: Sure why not? I have no idea if Layfield is going to wrestle a match in GCW, but if that is something they managed to pull off, good for them. It would certainly be an attraction and could draw a bit of interest, even if the match is a short one. If nothing else, it got them some attention, which is exactly why you would bring someone like Layfield in for such an appearance.
