It’s kind of a glaring omission. It’s pretty safe to say that this week’s Monday Night Raw was a different kind of show than the usual post WrestleMania episode. There wasn’t a lot going on in the way of debuts or returns, but there was one major name missing. Roman Reigns was nowhere in sight, which is rather odd for someone who had main evented the last four WrestleManias. So where was he?

According to Brad Shepard on the Oh. You Didn’t Know podcast, Reigns didn’t appear on the show because WWE was worried about the crowd’s reaction to him. The show was in New York City, which is known to have a rowdy crowd in general with the post WrestleMania show being the most energized crowd of the year. Reigns did appear in a post-show segment, joining Seth Rollins to say goodbye to Dean Ambrose.

The moment was worth waiting for. Check out Reigns’ farewell to Ambrose:

Opinion: I mean….would you want Reigns out there in front of that crowd? It wasn’t going to go well on television and I can believe WWE knew that in advance. They know what this show is going to be like and there is no reason to throw Reigns out there so he can be eaten alive again, especially if he didn’t have anything major to do. This was the right call, given the circumstances.

Do you agree with WWE holding Reigns off of the show? What is next for him? Let us know in the comments below.
