They wanted in. WWE has long since established itself as an international wrestling promotion as they run events all over the world. It makes for some interesting moments as you get to see where the company goes next, but they are able to get their feet in the door by buying up various other promotions. Now we are hearing about how they tried to get their hands on another one.

Following his match at New Japan: Destruction In Kobe, Will Ospreay revealed that WWE attempted to purchase RevPro Wrestling, an independent promotion based in England. Ospreay said that WWE offered a million dollars for the company but owner Andy Quildan declined. It is not clear when WWE made the offer, though they introduced NXT UK in June 2018 purchased EVOLVE Wrestling in 2020.

Opinion: This is something that makes sense for WWE and it would have been a good way for WWE to get a more permanent foot in the door in the United Kingdom. That being said, RevPro was under no obligation to accept the offer. RevPro has been around for over ten years and it makes sense for them to want to stick around on their own. There is nothing wrong with being on your own and it certainly seems they are doing well without selling out to WWE.
