I guess it just happens. Wrestling is a pretty unique form of entertainment as it is mainly centered around athletics but also features all kinds of storytelling. There are elements of comedy, drama, action and romance among other things, most of which is performed in front of a live crowd. Sometimes that can create quite the problem, which was the case last week on Monday Night Raw.

During last week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, Riddle and Asuka ran into each other in the back. Riddle began his usual strange chattering, ultimately asking if his scooter would be popular in Japan. Ultimately, Riddle forgot what he was supposed to say, laughed, and walked off from the live segment. Asuka was left awkwardly looking into the camera and ultimately smiling, but what was supposed to take place?

According to Fightful Select, the original plan for the segment called for Riddle to talk about various things in Japan, including Mt. Fuji, with no particular point. Vince McMahon was said to have found the segment hilarious and did not care about what happened as it did not make any significant changes. Asuka was praised for handling the situation, as she did not say or do anything inappropriate or incorrect. Riddle is scheduled to defend the United States Title against Sheamus at WrestleMania.

This is certainly a thing. Check out the segment plus some of Riddle’s more polished efforts:

Riddle basks in the glory of U.S. Title victory: WWE Network Exclusive, Feb. 21, 2021

Opinion: This is one of those things where it would be hard to believe that it actually happened without seeing it, but at the same time, would you expect it from anyone but Riddle? As McMahon seemed to think, it is hardly something that shook anything up and Riddle is someone just wacky enough to make it work. It isn’t something that can happen every time, but at least it wound up being fine this time around.
