I’d call that a fair reason. Whether you like him or not, Vince McMahon is still the most powerful person in all of professional wrestling. McMahon has been at the top of the food chain for decades now and there is little chance that he is going to be out of that spot until he is gone for good. That doesn’t mean he can’t take a break every now and then, which was the case this week.
This week’s Monday Night Raw was a bit of a mixed bag, with some good and some bad parts mixed throughout. The show served as the go home episode before Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay per view, which means that there are a few things the company needs to get right. That was easier said than done this week as McMahon was not there, albeit with good reason.
According to PWInsider.com, McMahon was not at this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw as he was in Texas with his family after his brother Rod passed away recently. McMahon was still in full communication with Monday Night Raw and made some tweaks to the show throughout the night. There is no reason to assume that McMahon will miss another show after this week’s.
Opinion: It’s horrible to hear that McMahon’s brother passed away as that is always tragic news. At least McMahon was sensible enough to go and be away from work for a bit, though I can’t say I’m surprised at the fact that he did something to adjust the show despite not being there. McMahon is the definition of a workaholic and that is never going to change.
