That’s a big one. Vince McMahon is back in charge of WWE and that has led to a string of questions about what is coming next. No one is quite sure about where things are going in the future, but there is also the question of a variety of issues from McMahon past. According to the Wall Street Journal, McMahon has agreed to a multi-million dollar settlement with former WWE referee Rita Chatterton, who has accused McMahon of raping her in a limousine in 1986. McMahon’s lawyer, Jerry McDevitt, said that still denies the charges and settled with Chatterton to avoid the cost of a trial. There is no word on the exact amount paid, but it is said to be a lump sum followed by annual payments. This is the latest in a string of such payments to women who have accused McMahon of sexual misconduct.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that doesn’t come as a big surprise but in the end it should be seen as a win for McMahon. He pays Chatterton to go away and ends a decades long ordeal for both of them. Assuming Chatterton is happy with what she got, it makes sense for both sides and clears up a headache that McMahon does not want to deal with on the way to selling WWE. It might not be right or justice being served, but it is probably the best case scenario all things considered.
