On the way out? There are all kinds of titles and championships in wrestling, some of which are designed for specific areas of the roster. Those are the ones that might not get the same kind of exposure, as a good many wrestlers might not be competing for them. It can be a special moment when you see one of them change hands, and that was the situation again this week.

This week on WWE Speed, Andrade defeated Ricochet to become the new Speed Champion, ending Ricochet’s inaugural reign with the title. This comes as Ricochet is reportedly set to leave WWE when his contract expires later this summer. Ricochet was taken out by Bron Breakker earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, though the match with Andrade was filmed the previous week.

Opinion: This is something that makes sense as Ricochet seems to be heading out from WWE and it was another loose end that needed to be tied up. The Speed Title is one of the more unique titles that the company has presented in a long time, but for now we are seeing it starting to get a bit of history put together. Title changes will help make it feel more important, which is one of those things that will happen more and more as the title keeps going.
