Mark your calendars. WWE has been in the pay per view business for well over thirty years now and has the idea mostly down to a science. Every now and then you will see things changed up a bit, but it can be a little tricky depending on what adjustments might need to be made. Occasionally, you will get a change of some kind and that will be the case next year.

NBA All-Star Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks has filmed an announcement, revealing the WWE will be presenting a new pay per view at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, January 1, 2022. According to a press release from WWE, courtesy of 411mania.com, the event will feature Monday Night Raw and SmackDown wrestlers. There is currently no name for the show. WWE previously aired an annual show called New Year’s Revolution, but it never aired on New Year’s Day.

WWE knows something about the new year. Check out some of their efforts from around that time:

Opinion: This is certainly a bit different and that might not be the worst thing. Having a pay per view on a Saturday night is a nice change of pace as the Sunday shows only seem to continue to take place due to tradition. Maybe this can be the start of something new, or at least a slight adjustment. It isn’t like there is a huge downside, so maybe we can get something better out of the move.
