The days of the bad promos. Wrestlers can go from one character to another in the blink of an eye. Look at Matt Hardy for example, who has gone from just a regular guy who happens to be one of the most talented performers of all time, to….whatever the Woken Matt Hardy character is. I have no idea what the character is supposed to be, but I do however know that he used to be known as High Voltage. How do I know this? Well that would be due to a new episode of a cool new WWE series.

These are really awesome.

Before he was Woken, Matt Hardy was High Voltage: WWE Formerly Known As

WWE has released a new edition of its Formerly Known As series, this time focusing on Matt, but also on Jeff Hardy to a lesser degree. The series looks at the path that some wrestlers took to get where they are today, even starting down to the level of trampoline wrestling. The video features Matt and Jeff at the fairgrounds where they started out, complete with clips of their older days and looking at some of the things that are still there over twenty five years later.

Check out the Seth Rollins edition too.

Opinion: I love this series and it’s become one of the most entertaining things that WWE has done. It helps so much to have these videos feel a lot more natural and genuine instead of having WWE tell them what to say. No one can tell these stories as well as the people who were there and those are the people who should be saying all these things. The old footage helps too and really does give you an idea of what they’ve done to get where they are. Check these out if you have the time as they’re a lot of fun.
