That’s quite the break. Earlier today, it was reported that new AEW World Champion Chris Jericho had lost the AEW title belt. That’s quite the problem to have as the belt has only been his for a few days, though it appears to have been stolen from the airport. Either way, that is kind of a serious problem for the company to have, but things are already looking a bit better.
According to Bryan Alvarez via Twitter, AEW has a second title belt in place for just such an emergency, meaning that there should be no problem before their upcoming TNT debut on October 2. The title was reported missing from Jericho’s limo after it returned to pick him up from a Longhorn Steakhouse in Tallahassee, Florida. AEW has released a video on the incident, with Jericho discussing the missing belt. There is nothing to suggest that this is part of a storyline.

Of course Jericho is talking about it. Check out his response to the incident:
Opinion: It’s a very good sign that AEW was smart enough to think of something like this in advance. Even fit eh title wasn’t stolen, there was a chance that it could have been dropped or broken in some way so having an extra belt for an emergency is common sense. Thankfully they have that and even if the title is never found, they can have a way around the problem.
Who should get the first show at Jericho? Who will take the title off of him? Let us know in the comments below.
