Rapid fire build. With less than three weeks to go before Crown Jewel, only one match has been officially announced. That was a major problem at last week’s Hell In A Cell event and there is a chance that it could be a problem again with Crown Jewel. There is still time to fix it though and thankfully WWE has figured that out and is doing something to fix the problem.

During a Friday press conference in Las Vegas, WWE COO Triple H announced both Tyson Fury vs. Braun Strowman and Cain Velasquez vs. Brock Lesnar. Both matches were teased last week when Fury and Velasquez made their debuts on Monday Night Raw and SmackDown respectively. Lesnar vs. Velasquez is not listed as being a title match, meaning Lesnar’s WWE Championship will not be on the line.

In their own words. Check out the press conference which announced the matches:

Opinion: I have no idea how these matches are going to go but they certainly should be interesting. WWE has a long history of these celebrity matches and I would rather have them take place on a show outside of WWE’s regular continuity than on a show where they are going to be the most important moment of the month. I’m not sure how good they are going to be, but maybe we’re in for some big surprises.
