This is what it’s all about – Gorilla Monsoon. Titles and champions are what drive wrestling companies. More often than not, wrestlers get in the ring and face off for the right to become champions. The personal issues and drama are there too, but they often tie into the title matches. But what happens when two people have a title of their own? Well in honor of the upcoming slate of champion vs. champion matches at Survivor Series, WWE is looking back at some of the better ones.

On its Instagram page, WWE has released a new video looking at the Top Five Champion vs. Champion matches in history. The list includes both singles and tag team matches with a wide history of matches included. Only three of the matches were actually for titles, with two of them only being for bragging rights. Two matches include the final match in the titles’ histories.

Opinion: I’m not exactly a fan of this kind of a match but it seems to be the kind of thing that we’re going to be seeing almost annually at Survivor Series. It’s one thing if the titles are being unified, but what’s the point in having champions lose to other champions? It damages the titles and the champions going forward and it’s not like these matches often mean much more than bragging rights.

Which of these is your favorite? What did WWE leave off the list? Let us know in the comments below.
