Get out here. Back in 2015, John Cena started his US Open Challenge, which became the top moment on almost every Monday Night Raw. There was little more exciting than watching Cena come out and tell someone to come get him and then wondering who was coming through that curtain next. While Cena popularized the idea, he didn’t invent it, and that’s what WWE is looking at today.

It’s a great way to accomplish a lot. Check out another awesome WWE countdown:

In a new video posted to its Instagram page, WWE is looking back at the Top 5 Open Challenges in WWE history. This idea goes back over thirty years and there are all kinds of moments included in the video. Some saw titles changing hands while others saw characters debuting. One of them even included both of these things happening at the same time.

Opinion: When done right, this is one of the best things that WWE can do. The reactions to some of the wrestlers appearing are awesome and if the moments are done right, it’s as exciting as WWE can get. You get actual great moments in these things, with some of Cena’s appearances and Ultimate Warrior at Summerslam 1988 being perfect examples of how to do them right.
