Nice to see you again. The WWE women’s divisions have come such a long way in the last few years and it has been great to see. There have been a lot of wrestlers who have gone from little more than filler material to some of the most prominent wrestlers on either show. Sometimes you need some fresh names in there though and that was the case this week on SmackDown.

Over the last few months, Bayley and Sasha Banks have completely dominated the SmackDown women’s division. There is only so much that you can do with the same two people though, especially when they have teamed together, dominated and then split in less than a year. The division needed someone new and after weeks of buildup, that new person showed up this week.

Welcome back. Check out this week’s surprise return:

This week on SmackDown, Banks defeated Bayley to retain the SmackDown Women’s Title. After the match was over, Banks celebrated on the stage but Carmella returned and hit her with a superkick, followed by an X Factor. Carmella has not wrestled since the Money in the Bank Ladder Match on May 10. Her return had been teased for several weeks before she revealed herself as a mystery woman in a series of vignettes.

Opinion: This is something that had to be done and there are far worse choices out there than Carmella for the next title challenger. Banks and Bayley have been joined together for far too long now and as good as they have been, at some point you have to switch things up a bit. Carmella has a history as a top star in the division so it is far from some ridiculous pick. Hopefully it works out.

What are you expecting from the feud? Will Carmella win the title? Let us know in the comments below.
