It’s a nice nod to continuity. WWE has been around for a very long time and they produce a lot of content. That can be both a positive and negative thing, as it means there is a lot of history to draw from but at the same time, it means a lot of things can be ignored as well. When you get a nice flashback that fits though, it can be a rather cool situation, which was the case at Extreme Rules.

One of the biggest focal points of Extreme Rules was the Swamp Fight between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt. The two were both part of the Wyatt Family and Wyatt has brought up that history to set up their feud. This is something that can go on for a very long time, including a cinematic match at the pay per view. Since Wyatt was involved, that meant a strange twist, including a rather bit of history for Strowman.

During the Swamp Fight, Alexa Bliss appeared and offered Strowman the chance to be with her forever if he would rejoin Wyatt and the Wyatt Family. Strowman walked to her but was attacked by Wyatt as Bliss disappeared. This was a call back to Bliss and Strowman being partners in the Mixed Match Challenge, during which the two teased a romance on multiple occasions.

This was a different kind of cameo. Check out what happened, plus what they were referencing:

Opinion: This is the kind of flashback that is always fun to see as the two of them certainly have chemistry together and it is something that doesn’t come out of nowhere. Bliss and Strowman are the kind of oddball pairing that works every now and then and if they are allowed to run with something like this, fans who follow more closely can have a little bit of fun.
