That’s what it says on the marquee. If there’s one thing the WWE Network excels at, it’s showcasing some of the greatest wrestling moments in history, including several that you might not have seen in a long time, if ever. That’s the case in their latest offering as they have added nearly 100 episodes of “Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling”. A nice free sample has been included.

On their YouTube page, WWE has released a segment from a 1982 show featuring Roddy Piper and NWA World Champion Ric Flair in a grappling exhibition. This was designed to help set up an eventual title match between the two as Flair wanted to display that he was a better amateur wrestler than Piper. Here’s the clip:

Opinion: I love this kind of stuff and it’s so cool to have it exposed to the masses like this. There’s a lot of incredible footage back then with a lot of the talents that would become WCW’s earliest stars forming. The wrestling is a very different style and that’s quite the entertaining find, especially when it’s presented in such a complete format.
