The next generation. There is something special about having a second generation wrestler perform. Maybe it is due to them having the right genetics or just being around the business for such a long stretch of their lives, but they are often better prospects than those with no such background. We might be seeing the case with another second generation star in the near future.

One of the biggest stories on Monday Night Raw has been that of Seth Rollins attacking Rey Mysterio’s eye. Mysterio has not wrestled since the attack and may never wrestle again due to his injuries. It is clear that Mysterio’s in-ring career is winding down and this may be the start of his last big story. If that is the case, WWE may have found a very interesting way for him to go out.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Rollins held a retirement ceremony for Mysterio, who did not appear in person. Later, Mysterio appeared via satellite and said that his career may be over. During the interview, Mysterio’s son Dominick appeared and said that something had to be done, eventually saying that as far as Rollins was concerned it would be an eye for an eye. Dominick has been rumored to be starting an in-ring career with WWE for several months now.

It was an emotional moment. Check out the father and son together:

Opinion: I can’t blame Mysterio for wanting to involve his son in his career at some point and if nothing else, the extra time means more training that Dominick can undergo. One of the biggest problems with a second generation wrestler (or any for that matter) starting young is that they are put in the ring too soon. Dominick is going to need a lot of seasoning and every little bit helps in this case.
