VIDEO: Retribution Tells Us What They Want

They speak. There is something about a mystery team or mystery angle that can make things a lot more interesting about a wrestling show. The idea that you don’t know what is going on can change the way a show feels and that has been the case for the last few months on Monday Night Raw. A group has been causing a lot of chaos on the show and now we know a little more about them.

Back on the August 3 Monday Night Raw, a group of masked people destroyed some equipment, setting off a series of attacks throughout the next month. The group would come to be known as Retribution and has attacked various people and things on Monday Night Raw in the last several weeks. We have not learned much about them, but that has changed as of this week.

They have a point. Check out Retribution’s first words:

During this week’s Monday Night Raw, Retribution interrupted a match between the Riott Squad and Nia Jax, but instead of invading the arena, they spoke for the first time. In a video on the Titantron, multiple members of Retribution appeared with some of them talking about wanting everything to change and invading WWE to poison everything. There is still no word on who is involved with the team or what their ultimate goals are.

Opinion: I’m not wild on this and I don’t exactly think this is going to be what makes things that much better. This felt similar to what a lot of different teams and groups have said over the years and that isn’t good. The other problem with Retribution at the moment is they really haven’t done anything. All they have done is cause some matches to be rescheduled and broken some equipment while annoying some wrestlers for a night each. I need more than that, and this didn’t do much for them.
