They’re a team. Stables are one of the most common booking tropes in wrestling and that has been the case for decades. You will see wrestlers banded together for one reason or another, allowing them to share television time and often a common goal. It can be a big deal when a team comes together and we saw that again this week with two stars making a return.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Former Champions Make Surprise Return During Wild SmackDown Match

This week on SmackDown, Santos Escobar faced Bobby Lashley in a semifinal match in the tournament to crown a new #1 contender to the US Title. Late in the match, two masked men attacked Lashley’s associates, the Street Profits, with the distraction allowing Escobar to win the match. The men unmasked as Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza, who had been teaming together in NXT and left with Escobar.

Welcome back. Check out the match plus the team in action:

Opinion: It makes sense to bring Garza and Carrillo back for a tandem with Escobar, as they have been needing a way back up to the main roster. At the same time, this opens up the door for some six man tags against the LWO when Rey Mysterio is back in the ring. This should be a good move for everyone involved and it is already paying benefits for Escobar as he moves on in the tournament.
