NWA time. Wrestling fans are rather spoiled today when it comes to available content. There is so much wrestling available that it is impossible to see everything that is being aired and that is a nice problem to have. With so many things running around, you have to pick and choose what you want to see and that is going to get a little more complicated next week.

One of the biggest wrestling surprises of 2019 was the resurgence of the NWA. As NWA World Champion Nick Aldis said, the company went from a punchline to a powerhouse, nearly entirely based on the strength of the NWA Powerrr show. The weekly series was only around for a few months but it changed the way people looked at the company. The show has been gone for several months, but now we are going to be seeing a spiritual successor.

It’s kind of a big deal. Check out the NWA’s surprise:

The NWA has announced a new series called Shockwave debuting on Tuesday December 1 at 6pm EST. The show will be produced in conjunction with the United Wrestling Network out of Los Angeles, California and will feature names such as Aldis, Thunder Rosa, Eli Drake, Aron Stevens and more. There is no word on how many weeks the show is going to run or how long each episode will be.

Opinion: At some point, you just have to run shows and that’s what the NWA is realizing. A wrestling company that doesn’t run events is really only a wrestling company in name only and that isn’t getting anyone anywhere. Hopefully this works out well for everyone but anything is better than nothing for the NWA at this point. Powerrr worked out better than anyone could have expected so if they can come close to that again, things are definitely looking up.
