She’s almost there. Injuries can be devastating to wrestlers as they leave stars on the shelf and promotions trying to come up with a new idea. That can make for some horrible situations, but it can also lead to some excellent moments when a wrestler returns to the ring. One missing wrestler is giving us a special look at her training as she gets ready for action again.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Starting Somewhere: Newest Bloodline Member Set For In-Ring Debut
Next Sunday at AEW Double Or Nothing, Mercedes Mone will wrestle her first match in about a year following a severe ankle injury. The match will also be her in-ring debut for AEW as she challenges Willow Nightingale for the TBS Title. Mone has released a video to her Twitter account, showing a brief clip of her training for a return to the ring. Her most recent match, also against Nightingale, took place on May 21, 2023.
Work in progress. Check out Mone’s training and her time in AEW:
Opinion: This isn’t much of a preview but it is good to see Mone actually back in the ring after being out of action for such a long time. Mone is one of the bigger acquisitions that AEW has made for a rather long time and it will be great for her to get to wrestle again. I’m not sure how the match is going to go, but it is better than having her sitting around talking instead of wrestling.
What do you think of the clip? How will the match go? Let us know in the comments below.
