He’s been there before. The AEW roster, both in and out of the ring, has a large collection of talent. They have a bunch of people from a bunch of different backgrounds, with a nice mixture of newcomers, young wrestlers and veterans. If they can find a good mixture to balance everything out, it can be quite the presentation. This includes a new signing with experience in a lot of different areas.

One of the most appealing aspects to AEW was their commentary booth. The company brought in Jim Ross and had Tony Schiavone back on a major wrestling show for the first time in nearly twenty years. Couple that with Excalibur to bring in a modern perspective and you have quite the mixture. Now though, someone else with some history of his own is coming in.

As announced on Twitter, AEW has officially signed Taz to a multi year contract. There is no word on when Taz will be starting with the company or what his role will be. Taz has appeared on an episode of Dynamite as a guest commentator, which comes after a seven year stint as a WWE commentator and a six year stint as a commentator for Impact Wrestling. He was also a two time ECW World Champion.

It’s a big signing. Check out the video of Taz signing with AEW:

Opinion: This is a good signing for AEW as Taz has shown that he can talk about wrestling with some of the best of them. Above that though, fans are going to know who he is and be familiar with him, which is one of the most important things for commentary. They are the guides to the show and if you have someone who can sound intelligent with what he does, he’s a valuable piece to the puzzle.

Are you a fan of Taz’s commentary? Who should he replace? Let us know in the comments below.
