Catch you down the road. Earlier this year at NXT’s “Takeover: Philadelphia”, Johnny Gargano fought NXT Champion Andrade Cien Almas in a losing effort. The match was outstanding and receive a five star rating from Dave Meltzer. It was so great that you knew a rematch was coming and the stakes were even higher. Things didn’t go well for Gargano, and now his career is changing.

This week on “NXT”, Gargano lost a title vs. NXT career match to Almas and has been forced to leave NXT, thanks to interference by Tommaso Ciampa. After the show was over, Gargano met with General Manager William Regal who had him sign his termination papers. Regal does say that Gargano has to make a few more already signed appearances. Here’s a video of Gargano signing the papers.

Opinion: While I completely believe Gargano will be back for the match against Ciampa at “Takeover: New Orleans” (maybe as a guest wrestler, a WWE wrestler visiting NXT or maybe in an unsanctioned match) but they’re doing a very good job of setting this up. You could feel the emotion when Gargano lost and that’s the point of NXT: the journey instead of the destination.

Where do you see this going? Will Gargano wrestle more than one more match in NXT? Let us know in the comments below.
